A Culture of Learning at Home
Wonder is the beginning of knowledge, not a detour from it.
In 2024–2025, CHECH families were invited to slow down and notice: the ordinary astonishment of a child's first question, the strangeness of a sunset, the fact that anything exists at all. A home education can chase coverage and checklists, or it can chase wonder first and let the learning follow. This was the year CHECH asked families to choose the second, and to build a culture at home where awe comes before analysis.

Why this painting
Claude Monet's The Artist's Garden at Vétheuil shows his own children playing on a garden path he built himself, sunflowers rising taller than they are on either side. Monet painted this during one of the hardest stretches of his life, and the picture holds no trace of that. A child stops mid-step with a toy wagon, caught by something in the light or the flowers, not going anywhere in particular. That's the whole invitation: wonder doesn't wait for easier circumstances. It's available on an ordinary afternoon, in your own garden, to anyone willing to stop and look.
