The Way of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross is one of the Church's oldest Lenten devotions—a walking prayer that traces Christ's path from condemnation to burial. For homeschooling families, it's also one of the most accessible. You can pray it at your parish on Friday evenings, walk an outdoor stations path, or set up simple images at home and move through them together. Children don't need to understand every theological nuance to grasp what's happening: Jesus is suffering, and we are with Him. That's the heart of it. The Stations teach us that following Christ means staying close even when the road is hard. This Lent, consider making the Stations part of your family's weekly rhythm. It only takes fifteen or twenty minutes—and it forms the kind of faith that endures.
Walk the Way of the Cross in Houston

Which Trees Wake Up First?
As we walk the Way of the Cross this Lent, take a moment to notice the new life already stirring around us. Which trees in your neighborhood are the first to unfurl new leaves this spring? Here's a challenge for the week: look closely — what color are those first leaves? They're not always green. Many species emerge in shades of red, bronze, or gold before deepening to their summer color. Take a walk with your children this week and see how many "first leaves" you can spot.
